Troldtekt Design Competition 2014: Product Design
Through their biennial international competition Troldtekt recruits design students to imagine innovative uses for their acoustic wall paneling material. My proposal was a minimalist chicken coop designed to inspire urban dwellers to participate in environmentally conscious activism.
The sound absorption quality of the panels keeps city noise out and chicken noise in. Inspired by Troldtekt’s commitment to sustainability, the coop would provide local food access to urban communities to help reduce the environmental damage and loss of finite resources caused by the food transportation system. The simple structure makes it easy to assemble and clean for people of all ages and abilities.
